Principal's Welcome Letter

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Oconee County Middle School.  On behalf of our staff, I would like to extend a warm welcome to a new school year.  The staff and I are looking forward to working with you and your family this year.

This summer we have been provided countless work hours from volunteers in our community.  Current and former OCMS students, OCMS staff members and community and civic leaders volunteered to continue the beautification efforts of our school.  Our community values our educational standards of excellence and is willing to give precious time to make our school a better place for its stakeholders.  I am humbled by our community support.

Our school is a unique place to work, learn and mature together. Each of our students is afforded a varied curriculum with rigorous, challenging opportunities for success.  Through our team efforts, we strive to actively involve the students, parents and community members working together!!  We expect our students to excel and become leaders and problem solvers.

As your instructional leader at Oconee County Middle School, I encourage you to support our school by your involvement in your child’s education.  Please use our website to locate the district and school handbooks, discuss the contents of your son/daughter’s agenda nightly, assist your child with homework, and encourage daily study habits.  An ongoing goal of our school is to increase communication among all of our stakeholders.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions or concerns.  Our official school office hours are 7:30 to 4:30 PM; however, we are in the building much later most evenings.

I look forward to working with your child and your family this year.  Once again, welcome to Oconee County Middle School!

Sincerely,

Judy Marable
Principal
