Please join us for our next PTO meeting on Tuesday, February 9th at 6:30 in the Media Center. Teachers will be demonstrating some of the technology being used in our classrooms to enhance instruction.
50s Day will be on Friday, February 19th! Get your outfits ready and plan on a fun day surrounding the 50s Era. There will be a dance after school from 2:45-4:00. All proceeds will go to Relay for Life.
The Six Flags Six Hour Reading Club will begin on January 12th. For students to earn a free Six Flags ticket, they need to complete six hours of reading and parents must sign the form located in the Friday Folder. Deadline to turn in your Six Hour reading forms will be February 24, 2010.
OCES is a winner in the 2009 Single Statewide Accountability System awards. Because of the hard work of our students, faculty, and community, OCES has been awarded the silver award for outstanding student achievement. Our school is one of only 30 elementary schools in the state of Georgia to receive this award for the 2008-2009 school year.
State Superintendent of Schools Kathy Cox named the 2009 Georgia Schools of Excellence honoring 27 schools that have shown the greatest improvement or highest achievement across the state. Oconee County Elementary is in the top 10% of schools in Georgia as measured by assessment in reading and mathematics.
