SPEAK UP SURVEY

As part of an annual national research project, Oconee County Schools will again be participating in the "Speak Up Survey".

"The Speak Up National Research project annually polls K-12 students, parents and educators about the role of technology for learning in and out of school and represents the largest collection of authentic, unfiltered stakeholder voice on digital learning."

 Titan Harriers win Boys' Region 8-AAAA title; Girls Claim Close Second

A balanced attack by North Oconee runners led to a first and second-place finish on Thursday at Unicoi, with the girls only one point short (57-58)of highly favored White County. 

The boys' team edged state-power North Hall 36-41, with Johnson and Chestatee also qualifying for the state meet in Carrollton on Saturday, Nov. 8. The Titans placed three runners in the top seven. Tyler Jones (3rd in 15:37), Cole Thornton (5th in 16:03), and Harper Sigler (7th in 16:06), earned All-Region First Team honors. Thomas Moore (10th in 16:20) and Anthony Potts (11th in 16:25) claimed All-Region Second Team spots. Andrew Cowick (20th in 17:10) and Ethan Faber (28th in 17:31) closed out top-seven team scoring. 

Sophie Brown (6th in 19:50) and Amy Stanaland (7th in 19:58) made All-Region First Team. Gabby Huff-Streiter (9th in 20:08) and Emma Lowring (20:29, 14th) were named All-Region Second team. Allie Dominicali was 24th in 21:07, with Melanie Bowden (27th in 21:17) and Hollis Brown (21:34, 31st) rounding out the top seven. 

Titan runners also took the top individual spots in the JV races, with Harris Smith (17:41) earning the boys' title, and Amelia Veal (21:18) the top girl. The girls' team claimed the JV title, while the boys' were 3rd in JV team standings. 

STEM FIELD TRIP

The 2nd STEM Field Trip is Friday, November 14.  We are going to Smith Planning Group, a local firm, to see what engineers in our community do.  We will miss 3rd block, and should arrive at school in time for 3rd lunch.  See Mr. Lewis in 2209 for details and permission forms.

ALL DECADE TEAM 2004-2014

Coach Tuley assembled a committee to pick the Titans All Decade Teams.  It is featured in the Football program this season.  We are asking for the All Decade players to be present at the Friday, November 7th home football game to be recognized and to receive a plaque.
